I am a reporter on the Obituaries desk of The New York Times, and I’m writing a book about the life and career of Robert Silvers, who edited and co-founded The New York Review of Books.
Previously, my reporting and criticism appeared in The Economist, The Guardian, Dissent, and The New York Review, where from 2013-2015 I worked as one of Silvers’s last assistants. I left that job to be an editor and writer at The Telegraph of Calcutta. In 2017, I moved to Delhi and worked for The Hindustan Times. A year later, I returned to New York and started contributing features to that city’s Times.
This website features a selection of my writing.
